LG LuV300 Vacuum Cleaner is LG’s first line of vacuums in the U.S, and incorporates a number of features designed to make vacuuming easier – to pick up more and empty less. LG’s patented Kompressor technology uses the world’s first motorized compression system and a larger bin to compress the dust intake to hold three times more household dust than non-compressor models. The compression also allows for the clean and simple disposal of compacted dusty.
With LG’s DualForce suction technology, two additional air pathways pick up from both sides of the vacuum head in addition to the traditional center section. This provides a wide suction area to collect dirt and debris, even from hard to reach edges.
The LuV300’s Click ‘N go™ system includes a radio-frequency wand that allows consumer to control the unit remotely from the want when it is detached fro the base. This makes it easier to clean stairs, upholstery, and other hard-to-reach areas. The model also includes a pet hair tool which helps remove pet hair from stairs as well as fabrics and carpets.
The LuV300B has been certified asthma & allergy friendly ™ by the Asthma and Alelrgy Foundation of America (AAFA).
Cost: LuV300 - $399
LuV200 - $299

Spring Cleaning Tips from Mary “Moppins” Findley
- Learn to clean using two hands. Two minds are better than one - well two hands are twice as fast. It takes a bit to get the hang of it then apply this to cleaning any surface.
- Windows screens: rather than washing screens with buckets of sudsy water, dampen an old terry towel under the faucet and wipe them down. Or wipe them with a sponge that is used to clean tile after grouting.
- Window sills: use a 1½ inch h paintbrush to clean dirt and cobwebs from the tracks of the windows.
- Windows. never use newspaper or paper towels to clean windows. They contain pulp from trees that can scratch the glass. Clean old cotton tee shirts do a great job. Avoid streaky windows by wiping glass with a dry erase board after cleaning them.
- After washing dinner dishes each evening, make a habit of cleaning one surface. A counter, the stove, microwave, dishwasher or refrigerator. By the end of the week you have the kitchen spring cleaned spending only a few extra minutes per night.
- Start spring cleaning by clearing closets. Then you have space to put the items that cause clutter.
- A quick way to de-clutter for spring cleaning: never leave a room empty handed. Take something with you and put it away. Within a couple of weeks your house is de-cluttered with very little effort on your part.
- Spring cleaning usually means making multiple trips all over the house collecting supplies or dumping trash. Keep a trash bag handy as you clean then dump the trash in that and make one trip not a dozen.
- Organize your supplies in a tote tray. Don’t use aprons - they are a pain in the neck literally. Keep a spare bottle of your window cleaner and all purpose cleaner ready as backups so you don't lose time refilling bottles or searching the overfilled broom closet looking for extras. My book has a lot of great recipes to make your own cleaners at home.
- Keep your cleaning cloths and towels in two plastic bags. Store clean rags in one bag and soiled rags in the other.
- Color code your towels like blue for bathroom, green for the floors, white for the kitchen. When you spring clean you don't have to stop to search for the right towel to clean. It's right there color coded for you.
- Focus and keep going. Every time you stop it takes precious time to build speed again. Drink that cup of coffee before your start, ignore the phone and keep going. Aim to complete each project before taking a break but preferably keep going. Once you stop it's hard to pick back up again - guilty as charged!
- *Spring cleaning includes dusting baseboards. As you dust furniture, pull furniture away from the walls. Wipe down the baseboards and use a good vacuum along the walls. Replace the furniture.
- Be sure to launder washable quilts and comforters to remove winter dust mites. For wools or fragile fabrics, hang them outside or put them in your dryer on air dry.
